Artist Biographies

Margaret MacDuffie studied violin at Indiana University School of Music as well as in Warsaw, Poland on a Fulbright scholarship. She was a member of the SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra in Freiburg and Stuttgart from 1982-2023, most notably under the baton of Francois-Xavier Roth and Teodor Currentzis. In the late 80’s she studied baroque violin with Daniel Stepner in Boston. She was co-founder of the baroque ensemble “Parnassi musici”, with which she recorded numerous CDs of trio sonatas from the 17th and 18th centuries, all of which were premiere recordings and one of which was nominated for the Cannes Classical Awards.
